§ 2-1. [Unclaimed property.]

Latest version.

All unclaimed property which shall come into the possession of the Sheriff of Sarasota County or his deputies shall, after the Sheriff has made a reasonable effort to return same to its rightful owner, be disposed of by delivering same unto the County Administrator of Sarasota County for disposition and sale as surplus County-owned property. Any unclaimed cash money shall be paid into the general fund if same remains unclaimed by the true owner thereof for a continuous period of six months.
