§ 2-61. Ratification and reaffirmation of the establishment of the Office of the County Attorney.

  • All prior actions of the Board, including Resolution 91-123 and Sarasota County Contract No. 91-474, establishing the Office of the County Attorney are hereby ratified and reaffirmed. The Office of the County Attorney shall serve as the professional legal counsel and legal staff to the Board, constitutional officers, Sarasota County government and any other entity as directed by the Board. The Office of the County Attorney shall consist of the County Attorney, who shall be head of the office, together with such deputy attorneys, assistant attorneys, law clerks, and other personnel as may from time to time be employed by the County Attorney to serve as at-will employees of the County. The Office of the County Attorney shall be managed and operated in accordance with the terms of this article, the Policies and Procedures Manual of the Office of the County Attorney, and any written contract between the Board and the County Attorney.
