§ 14-49. Abandonment of Animals.

(a)

It shall be a violation of this article for a Person to abandon or dispose of an Animal on the property of another or public property. It shall be a violation of this article [for a Person] to abandon an Animal in his former residence when relocating to a new residence.

(b)

After posting a 24-hour notice of impoundment and no attempt by the Owner has been made to contact Animal Services, the Animal(s) shall be impounded by Animal Services.
