§ 10.1. General.

10.1.1.

Interpretation of Certain Words or Terms. For the purpose of these zoning regulations, certain terms or words used herein shall be interpreted as follows:

a.

The word person includes a firm, association, organization, partnership, trust, company, or corporation as well as an individual.

b.

The present tense includes the future tense, the singular number includes the plural, and the plural number includes the singular.

c.

The word shall is mandatory, the word may is permissive.

d.

The words used or occupied includes the words intended, designed, or arranged to be used or occupied.

e.

The word lot includes the words plot, parcel, or tract.

f.

The word structure includes the word building as well as other things constructed or erected on the ground, attached to something having location on the ground, or requiring construction or erection on the ground.

g.

The word land includes the words water, marsh, or swamp.

h.

The word applicant includes any authorized agent of the applicant.
